Coffee Hour and Hospitality Report 2016

Coffee services for Sunday morning was a concern of the Women’s Group in the spring of 2016.  The women wanted predictable schedules that were known in advance that volunteers would be available for the coming weeks.  Also discussed was the need to involve more parishioners so the responsibilities would be shared.

Since May, coffee and hospitality continuing through this new year has been offered by many creative people signing up on a bulletin board list in advance.  Worshippers in our congregation are reconnecting and hearing the announcements after morning services.  Most important are the visitors and newcomers meeting us and making new friends.

For lovers of coffee itself new methods are being tried.  With Ryan Davis’s creativity and continuous serving, quality coffee is available and very little has to be thrown out.

Also, Ryan has introduced to us a national Episcopal project to support coffee, tea and chocolate growers in other countries.  Buying these products at coffee time we make contributions to business entrepreneurs in faraway places and can buy gifts for friends easily by shopping at church.
