During this year our relationship continued with Hospitality House for its 16th year of providing 3 months of stability and help for single, homeless women in South King County. A small group of St. Elizabeth’s parishioners brought meals to the house during the 3 weeks of being evening meal providers. St. Elizabeth’s also contributed regularly to the “current needs” of the residents, through the basket in the church office.
Don Purrington donated many items from his home downsizing which enabled Hospitality House to create 7 kits of household basics for refugees who found stable housing. His gift was much appreciated.
Hospitality House had a successful and fun Spring Fling fundraising dinner/auction and dessert dash at St. Francis Church. The House also had it’s annual Walk for the Women in September. These two events are the two fundraisers for the House.
The Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon was a delicious event hosted this year by Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Many volunteers came and enjoyed the salads, soups and great desserts.
Thanks to the faithful efforts of so many volunteers Hospitality House continues to be a shelter that helps women find Home, Health and Hope.
